Poisoning in the club
A group of friends go to a club one Saturday night. While they are having fun dancing the space is filled with a gas. Some of the people faint. The group (our students) must identify the gas and protect themselves. They have one hour to solve a group of tasks before the room is filled again with the gas and everyone loses consciousness.
A group of friends go to a club one Saturday night. While they are having fun dancing the space is filled with a mysterious gas. Some of the people lose consciousness. Those who remain conscious must involve themselves into an investigation of the content of the gas and find a way to protect themselves (the gas is nitrogen oxide). They must hurry in order not to faint too. In an hour time they must find a solution of the problem by resolving a set of tasks in biology, chemistry, and pharmacology. The concept of the haemato-encephalic barrier will be used in the process.
